JOSE MOURINHO insists that despite his team’s alarming slump in the Premier League, he’s still one of the best coaches in the world.

A 2-1 loss at West Ham on Sunday afternoon was the fifth in six league games. Pressure is mounting on Mourinho, who is in one of the worst runs of his long career as a manager.

Tottenham’s decline has been severe as they have only won three of their last 13 games in mid-December, which means their hopes are broken of qualifying for the Champions League through the league are as good as over.

They were reversed in both halves with goals from Michail Antonio and Jesse Lingard, partly due to more defensive mistakes. Lucas Moura’s header in the second half brought them back into play.

Mourinho is often accused of being out of date but was optimistic when asked if he would question his methods while in poor form. </ P When asked what gave him so much confidence in his style, he added: "Because the results are sometimes the result of multiple situations in football and mine and the methods of my coaching staff are second to none."

The current form is far worse than the results in which Mauricio Pochettino was fired in 2019. However, according to Mourinho, his club, which is nine points behind West Ham in fourth place, is not in crisis and suggests that the Europa League will now be their priority as a ticket to next season’s Champions League.

« I don’t know what you mean by crisis, » he said. « If crisis is frustration and sadness in the locker room, I would say that because nobody is happy and we have all shown that in this game.

» When a team fights like the team to the last second and tries To achieve a different outcome, this is never a group crisis because groups are in crisis unless they are together in search of better outcomes than you. «

» So I wouldn’t say crisis, I would be bad Say, really bad results. « That’s obvious. We lose too many games.

» But we live in the Europa League. The Europa League is a time window that is open to us, and maybe we can go through the Europa League to get into the Champions League. «

Antonio scored from close range in the fifth minute, and then Lingard’s third goal on loan, which VAR reinstated after being knocked out, doubled the Hammers lead.

Moura’s header gave Spurs hope and then they threw it Sink looking for a straightener, but Gareth Bale and Son Heung-min both hit the woodwork.

The win puts the Hammers in the top 4 and gives them the highest score ever at this stage of a Premier League season .

Boss David Moyes is happy with the way the campaign has gone and dares to dream.

« It was really important to win this title today as we still have games to go, » said he. « I said a couple of weeks ago that if we could stay there, we could look at it later.

» We’re very excited about this because at this time last year we were worried that we would be relegated. We’re excited about it.

« But the thing for me is that we can play a lot better than we can and that’s what excites me because there is more to come.

» Where is it going? I really hope we can compete in one of the European competitions, but if we don’t and we finish outside of the competition, it’s hard to say the players didn’t have a good year. «
