World news – Mövenpick Hotel Hobart brings brand to Australia


The warm and modern 221 room hotel today welcomes its first guests and promises to provide guests with a Tasmanian, nature-inspired boutique interior, fine dining and wine experiences at the Italian restaurant Tesoro Modern, a daily chocolate hour and a selection of others Mövenpick brands excite signature offers.

The hotel designed by Jaws Architects exemplifies Tasmanian contemporary design with richly layered textures and a locally inspired color palette.

Wall coverings, furniture, fabrics and colors have been carefully chosen curated to ensure that they reflect the rhythm, patterns, movement and sound qualities of the Tasmanian landscape.

All rooms are located on floors three through 18, many of which have breathtaking panoramic views and guests with Hobarts connect spectacular nature. The public areas, which were designed by the global design agency Greymatters, are located on the first two floors.

Guests are welcomed to the hotel in a beautifully decorated lobby on the ground floor, which leads into the hotel’s Tesoro Modern Italian Restaurant. It’s one of Hobart’s best dining and wine experiences, and also offers guests and visitors the best of modern Italian cuisine as locally inspired signature dishes.
