Netflix has revealed the plot and some of the votes for Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is the CGI film from Netflix, which was announced in the fall of 2020.
According to Netflix, the film brings back Resident Evil 2’s Nick Apostolides as Leon Kennedy and Stephanie Panisello as Claire Redfield.
Alongside news that Panisello and Apostolides are returning to re-enact the characters, the movie’s synopsis has been revealed, and apparently there was an outbreak at the White House.
In 2006 there were traces of unauthorized access to the President’s secret files on the White House network. American federal agent Leon S. Kennedy is one of the group invited to the White House to investigate the incident. But when the lights suddenly go out, Leon and the SWAT team have to defeat a horde of mysterious zombies.
Meanwhile, TerraSave employee Claire Redfield encounters a mysterious picture drawn by a youth in a country she was visiting while she supports refugees. Haunted by this drawing, which appears to have been infected by a virus, Claire begins her own investigation.
The next morning, Claire visits the White House to request the construction of a social facility. There she accidentally reunites with Leon and takes the opportunity to show him the boy’s drawing. Leon seems to see a connection between the zombie outbreak at the White House and the strange drawing, but he tells Claire that there is no relationship and leaves. Over time, these two zombie outbreaks in distant lands will lead to events that will rock the nation to the core.
The film is slated for service this year, and Capcom’s Hiroyuki Kobayashi will serve as executive producer. TMS Entertainment will also produce and Resident Evil: Vendettas Quebico and Kei Miyamoto will be responsible for the animation.
There is also a live adaptation of Resident Evil for a Netflix broadcast starring the Wesker children. And don’t forget the Constantin Film reboot of Resident Evil slated to hit theaters this summer.
We also have Resident Evil Village to look forward to, and it’s May 7th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
