World news – Nicolas Cage marries the fifth woman, 26-year-old Riko Shibata

Nicolas Cage is remarried and remarried Riko Shibata at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas last month.

The couple wed in a small ceremony on February 16, a date Cage said was in honor of the birthday the groom’s late father.

Riko wore a handcrafted bridal kimono from Kyoto; Cage’s tuxedo was by Tom Ford. The couple exchanged traditional Catholic and Shinto vows with readings of Walt Whitman poetry and Japanese haiku.

Cage’s ex-wife Alice Kim – with whom the actor is still on good terms – joined the couple and then partied with Kim’s and Cage’s son Kal.

Cage and Riko are in Shiga , Japan, and have been together shortly after Cage’s last marriage to Erika Koike broke up – which lasted four days in 2019.

Shortly before the New York pandemic closed in March 2020, Cage and Riko were on a date in tavern Spotted on the Green where they « didn’t talk much » but « drank lavishly » before taking a carriage ride to Central Park after visiting the Natural History Museum earlier this week.

According to the Daily Mail, Cage, the suggested Riko’s ring to Japan via FaceTime and FedExed, announced his engagement on his brother Marc Coppola’s radio show in August.

« She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan. I went back to Nevada and I haven’t seen her in six months, » he told Marc. « We’re really happy together and we’re really excited to spend this time together. Finally, I just said, » Look, I want to marry you « and we got engaged on FaceTime.

At 26, Riko is four younger than 57-year-old Cage’s first son, Weston. It is their first marriage.

Cage memorably alleged in court documents that he « lacked understanding of his actions in marrying [Koike] insofar as he was not in was able to consent to marriage « . This was his fourth divorce; he was married to Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001, to Lisa Marie Presley from 2002 to 2004, and to Kim from 2004 to 2016.

Cage was most recently in Netflix’s « History of Swear Words » and will play « Tiger King » Joe Exotic in the upcoming script-based adaptation of Amazon’s wildlife saga.
