A Nigerian military aircraft, King Air 35, crashed on Sunday approaching the runway at Abuja Airport due to an engine failure, confirmed Nigerian Aviation Minister Hadi Sirika.
« A military aircraft, King Air 350, is just about to arrive Crashed just outside our airstrip in Abuja after it reported an engine failure on the Minna. It seems fatal. We should stay calm. & awaits the outcome of the military investigation while we pray for the departed soul / souls if any, « the minister tweeted.
It is not yet clear whether there have been any deaths and no further details have been given.
Pictures and videos posted on social media show a fire the construction site with black smoke rising from the crashed plane.
