World news – NSW Labor MP accuses government officials of rape


An NSW Labor MP alleged in the state legislature that a current MP had raped a sex worker in the Blue Mountains.

Trish Doyle used the parliamentary privilege on Wednesday afternoon to claim the unnamed MP raped the sex worker who did not consent to penetrative sex.

« It is all the worse that this man who raped her is a member of the government of this chamber … his power and privileged position as a citizen make this fear, anger and Injury even worse, « Ms. Doyle told the NSW House of Commons.

 » Child abuse and sex crimes team detectives are investigating allegations of sexual violence against a woman in the Blue Mountains in September 2019, « a statement from NSW police said .

« The matter was reported and referred to the squad at the end of September 2020 and has been investigated since then. »
