World news – Oklahoma’s new law would give Texans access to the medical marijuana program

You know, Oklahoma, we joke a lot about you down here in Texas. If that happens, I’m sure some very lucky people will be visiting your state more often.

Here in Wichita Falls, we live just a short drive from the Oklahoma border. I am sure you have made the trip to an Oklahoma casino from time to time. You could play with your Texas driver’s license without a problem, right? Imagine if that were the case with Oklahoma’s medical marijuana program?

When the 2022 Oklahoma House Bill passes in the Senate, medical cannabis will be as accessible to Texans as legal gambling. In fact, not only Texas but any other state is welcome to be part of the program. Under the current program, only those with medical approvals from other states will qualify for the program. In addition, the bill extends the validity of a medicinal weed license from 30 days to two years for non-residents.

What would you have to do as a Texan? You’d have to get approved by a doctor in Oklahoma and pay a fee of $ 200 for a license, which would then have to be approved by the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority. This doesn’t mean you can take your marijuana with you to Texas. Maybe someday

If you want to go check out the ridiculous amount of pharmacies in Oklahoma. They have 15.6 pharmacies per 100,000 people in the state, the second most common in the country, by the way. You could pick something up for yourself as soon as this is over. I just have to wait and see.
