World news – « Our Moses »: The Delaware Rabbi blesses Biden at the ceremony on the eve of his inauguration

Rabbi Michael Beals compares the mission of the elected US president with this week's Torah section, which describes the flight of the Israelites from Egypt

JTA – A Delaware rabbi blessed US President-elect Joe Biden and his wife Jill before they left the state for the inauguration of the president by quoting this week’s Torah portion of the Israelites’ flight from Egypt describes.

Rabbi Michael Beals explained the meaning of « Bashert », the Yiddish term for fate that is often used to describe a married couple, at the farewell ceremony in New Castle.

He applied it to the Bidens who attended the event at a National Guard center named for Joe Biden’s late son Beau, but also said Biden was Bashert for the presidency.
