The Patriots canceled broadband Julian Edelman’s contract on Monday with a failed physical designation, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, quoting the NFL Transaction Wire.
The 34-year-old Edelman has been battling chronic knee problems for almost two years. He missed the team’s last 10 games last year. He wasn’t expected to play the entire 2021 season, sources told the Herald. Edelman could be about to retire.
Since Edelman was drafted in the seventh round of the 2009 design, it has established itself as one of the best receivers in franchise history. It is considered a castle to enter the Patriots Hall of Fame after spending his entire career in New England. Edelman made a total of 620 catches for 6,822 yards and 36 touchdowns in 10 regular seasons.
