Piers Morgan named CBS a « Cowardly Broadcasting System » after buddy Sharon Osbourne deviated from « The Talk » in a racing controversy last week.
In a scathing column published Monday for the Daily Mail , Morgan was referring to Osbournes now former colleague Sheryl Underwood, who appeared to be defending George Lopez after his curse in 2017.
« It’s an absolute shame and given the way Underwood was defending HER friend George Lopez when he was Said racist things that were caught on camera, it’s disgustingly hypocritical to them, « said Morgan in his column.
» Like the behavior of CBS, the cowardly broadcasting system that bows so pathetically to the lively mob, who illiberally barks for blood like a bunch of mad fascists overseeing the language, « he continued.
At the time, Lopez called a black woman a » bh « because of her reaction to a controversial one A joke in his set, in which he talked about rules in a Latino family: “Don’t marry someone who is black and don’t park our houses in front of them. «
On Friday, CBS confirmed Osbourne’s exit from » The Talk, « recording the events that took place during a March 10 episode in which Osbourne got into an emotional debate with her co-hosts while defending Morgan.
Earlier this month, Morgan resigned from Good Morning Britain because of comments he made about Meghan Markle after she sat down with Oprah Winfrey.
« I feel like I’ll be right away put in an electric chair because I have a friend who many people think is a racist, which makes me a racist, « Osbourne said, asking her co-hosts to tell her » what he is. » that is racist. «
In a statement released by CBS, the network stated, » The events of the March 10th show were annoying for everyone, including the home-watching audience. We came to that as part of our review Sc concluded that Sharon’s behavior toward her co-hosts during the March 10 episode was inconsistent with our values for a respectful workplace. «
Morgan added later in his column on Monday, » So it is okay for Sheryl Underwood to passionately defend someone who racially abuses a black woman, but it is not okay for Sharon Osbourne to defend someone passionately Who didn’t?
On Monday, Page Six exclusively reported that 68-year-old Osbourne had received a payout of up to eight numbers from CBS when she left the daily streak.
« Sharon is calling a minimum payout of $ 5 million to $ 10 million of it and found it was her decision to [leave the show], « a source told us.
Morgan previously had Osbourne over the weekend in a separate column for the Mail on Sunday defended.
