World news – Predicting Memphis vs. SMU, line: Under is still a long way to go

Memphis has seen a surge in offense lately, scoring more than 70 points in each of the last three games. On Thursday in Dallas, the Tigers will try to defeat the SMU for the second time in three nights.

This season, Memphis had significantly more successes on defense than on offense for coach Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway. He recorded the fourth longest points per possession in the nation and posted the 198th point per possession for the week.

SMU has played each of its last four games against Over, including Tuesday’s 76-72 loss to Memphis as the Mustangs made 11 of their 25 3-point attempts. But duplicating these exterior shots could be difficult. Memphis ranks 21st in the nation on 3-point defense as a percentage, with opponents converting 28.6 percent of their shots from the range. This will be a game that both teams may have a hard time getting a clean look in.

Both teams rank in the top 20 for the percentage of shots they face in defense, with Memphis 9.9 of the opponent’s shots and SMU 8.6 percent blocked. Everyone is also in the top 35 in 2-point target defense.

Since Memphis has the eighth worst percentage of free-throw shots, but ranks 28th in the rebound rate, so the opponents in their offensive possessions only have one shot Restrict, returning to this series with two games offers more defense than the first competition.
