White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Thursday that President Biden and former President Barack Obama speak « regularly » but refused to say how often to avoid « invading » the privacy of their friendship .
The relationship between Biden and his eight-year-old boss was a point of intrigue in Washington. Obama lives only about 2 miles from the White House, although Psaki apparently states that they mainly speak by phone.
« How involved are former President Obama and First Lady Obama in the Biden Harris administration? » Washington Blade journalist Chris Johnson asked Psaki at their daily press conference.
Psaki said, « Not only are you ex-colleagues, I think you would call them President and Vice-Presidents, but they remain close friends, too they regularly speak on a range of topics, from political issues to the ricocheting of ideas from others on their families.
