World news – Rangers’ Colin Blackwell suffers an upper body loss


Colin Blackwell, who had started the day with three consecutive games since being recalled from the cab roster earlier this week, sustained an upper body injury midway through the first period and never returned for the rest of the Rangers’ 5 -4 Loss of overtime for the penguins.

« I didn’t see it, » said coach David Quinn after the game. « We’re not sure about his status yet. »

Kevin Rooney scored his first goal as a Ranger on a shorthanded strike to end the game at two in the second half. Rooney and K’Andre Miller split for a 2v0, with Miller providing a perfect pass for Rooney’s give-and-go.
