The Old Dominion Monarchs and Rice Owls meet at Tudor Fieldhouse college basketball on Friday.

In Saturday’s win against the Owls, Old Dominion’s Anthony Oliver led the team with 17 points and four rebounds. Joe Reece put up 14 points with nine boards and Malik Curry finished 10 points with two assists and three rebounds in 32 minutes.
On the rice side, the year started with a winning streak in four games before taking on New Mexico lost. Rice then defeated the Houston Baptist and fell to Sam Houston; It’s been a 4-1 stretch for Rice ever since. The owls hit New Orleans, UTSA, and UTEP during this period.

PICK: I’m sticking with Rice. The Owls have played well in the last five games. The only flaw was a loss to UTEP of 101-89 on January 8th. Otherwise, Rice has scored 71 or more points in each game. Old Dominion have had some good hits lately, but they have also been at 67 or below in two of their last four games. Rice seems to be a better game here.
