Tonight brings the heartbreaking news that Yaphet Kotto, the actor’s beloved horror fanatic as Parker in Alien, has passed away at the age of 81. His wife, Tessie Sinahon, aged 24, posted this on Facebook and admitted that she is still in shock.

« He died around 10:30 pm Philippine time last night. A good man, a good father, a good husband and a decent person, very rare to find. Rest in peace darling, I’ll miss you every day my best friend my rock. I love you and you will always be in my heart. Until we meet again! « 

Sinahon mentions that Kotto was ready for roles on several projects, including a new GI Joe movie and a movie with Tom Cruise. He was also hoping to get a book out. You can read her full statement on Facebook.
