Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar has responded to allegations against show artist Joss Whedon (Ian West / PA).

Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar responded to allegations against show artist Joss Whedon by saying, “I stand with all abuse survivors.” Social media actress Charisma Carpenter Whedon created “hostile and toxic work environments” and was for « Persistent, passive-aggressive threats » responsible to fire her.
Carpenter, 50, who played Cordelia Chase in the supernatural drama series Buffy The Vampire Slayer and spin-off Angel, said Whedon had her » fat « when she was four months pregnant.
Carpenter said she was asked to speak up after actor Ray Fisher from the cast of the upcoming superhero film The Flash was removed after publicly criticizing the filmmaker who directed the Justice League re-shoots after original director Zack Snyder resigned after a family tragedy.
A Whedon representative said they had no comment when she did by the PA news agency.
Gellar, who played the title role on Buffy, has now posted a statement on Instagram saying, « I don’t want to be associated with Whedon forever ».
She said : « While I’m proud to associate my name with Buffy Summers, I don’t want to be associated with the name Joss Whedon forever.
» I’m currently more focused on raising my family and a pandemic to survive, so I will not make any further statements at this point.
« But I stand by all survivors of the abuse and I am proud that they speak out «
She wrote: » I have been holding my tongue for almost two decades and even apologize for certain events that traumatize me to this day.

Fis Her, who played Cyborg in Justice League, accused Whedon of being « gross, abusive, unprofessional, and totally unacceptable » to the cast and crew on the set of the 2017 film.
Whedon is also the writer and director of two of the Avengers films as well as the creator of the television series Firefly.
« Like his persistent, passive-aggressive threats to fire me that destroy a young actor’s self-esteem.
» And when I was in fourth I was a month pregnant and called me « fat » to colleagues at 30 kg.
« He was mean and biting, openly despised others, and often played favorites by pitting people against each other to compete and for his own Attention and approval to vie. «
After Carpenter learned she was pregnant, he claimed Whedon » attacked my character, mocked my religious beliefs, accused me of sabotaging the show, and I was unceremoniously fired the following season after I was born « .
Carpenter said Whedon was a » vampire « who pulled the » promise and joy « out of her new motherhood.
She added: » Only recently, after years of therapy and a wake-up call from the Time’s Up movement, did I understand the complexity of this demoralized thinking.
“The responsibility rests with the abused with the expectation to accept and adapt in order to be employable.
« Joss Whedon abused his power several times while working on the Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel sets.
» Although he found his wrongdoing amusing, it only served to heighten my performance anxiety to disempower myself and alienate myself from my colleagues.
« With a beating, heavy heart, I say that I have managed isolated and sometimes destructive.
» When Ray Fisher publicly accused Joss of himself last summer while of being abusive and unprofessional towards the cast and crew of the Justice League re-enrollments in 2017 disappointed me.
