Scott Morrison has dealt a huge blow to Cricket Australia for his decision to exclude Australia Day from official promotions after consulting Indigenous advisors.
The CA National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cricket Advisory Committee recommended the move with three Big Bash League games on Jan. 26.
The prime minister spoke to the governing body of the sport on the decision, which, according to CA, aims to normalize talks about the history of the date.
» A little more focus on cricket and a little less focus on politics would be my message to Cricket Australia, « Morrison told Rockhampton Radio 4RO on Thursday.
Three BBL teams will also wear indigenous jerseys in games on or before the day .
