Police are looking for a missing man after failing to return from a fishing trip in the Hinchinbrook Island area.
The 69-year-old went fishing in Gayundah Creek around 3 p.m. and was expected an hour later.
The man’s wife contacted the police when he did not come back and could not be reached by radio.
Police carried out a search last night and located the man’s upturned two meter boat at around 2:30 this morning .
