World news – SECOND DAY: Extinction Rebellion disrupts traffic with a « Rebel Ride » in Melbourne


The Extinction Rebellion protesters have begun their second day of action by disrupting traffic with a « rebel ride. »

On Tuesday, the group cycled from Carlton Gardens to slowly travel through the business district drive.

They sang about « climate justice » as they drove through town and were escorted by Victoria Police.

On Monday, Spring Street was brought to a standstill during rush hour as the Extinction protesters Rebellion held a fake morgue on the street.

A 68-year-old woman was arrested and fined after police told protesters to leave the area.

The group has set up camp in Carlton Gardens and vows to stay there all week.
