World news – Secret Ultra Tune Tycoon tape given to police officers

Ultra Tune head Sean Buckley became embroiled in a legal situation after a secret phone recording of the tycoon was released to authorities.

Mr. Buckley, a Melbourne multimillionaire who now lives in a penthouse on the Gold Coast, has taken legal action to prevent about 100 recordings of him from being published.

Ex-girlfriend Jennifer Cruz Cole, a model who lives and works in Melbourne and has appeared in some racy Ultra Tune commercials, captured the last part of their relationship, which ended in December.

The Saturday Herald Sun was informed that the recording had been turned over to the Victoria Police, who refused to comment on the case.

The records are also the subject of federal court action against Mr Buckley, who wants them to be destroyed.

Police are believed to have spoken to Ms. Cole and two of Mr. Buckley’s former business associates in Melbourne.

Jimmy « Mr Vegas » Seoud, who once ran the Gold Coast Strip Club Toybox Showgirls for Mr Buckley prior to a fallout, and Anthony Swords, a former Gattocorp executive who worked for Ultra Tune for two years, are also controversial with the auto repair magnate.

« I’m not going to pull away from the guy or his lawyers. I’m not scared of his money or his lawyers, » said Mr. Swords.

Mr Swords said he passed the recording on to Mr Seoud and felt committed.

Although Mr Swords left Ultra Tune Australia as risk manager in December, he said he continues to work for Ultra Tune Thoroughbreds, which owns racehorses. He says his employment resulted in him taking stress vacations.

However, they were unable to convince Mr. Swords to sign a statement asking him to retrieve and destroy audio recordings.

A lawyer for Mr. Buckley said the footage was illegal. « It’s an illegal recording without his consent and he’s trying to take action against you (Ms. Cole) for it, » said the lawyer.

« He (Mr. Buckley) is not afraid there – it’s normal girlfriend and boyfriend stuff, mood swings, fights, what can you say?

« He just thinks it’s part of trying to get money … to keep them against him, but it won’t work. »

Mr. Buckley was « shocked » by the footage, the attorney said, claiming, « The tapes are private and made without his knowledge. They are not accurate, we believe they were cut and spliced.

Mr. Buckley’s attorneys have requested an injunction from federal court to prevent the record from being published.

Ms. Cole, who was employed as an Ultra Tune ambassador, no longer works for the company.

She met Mr. Buckley more than 10 years ago when she appeared on an original Ultra Tune TV ad « Unexpected Situations » before starting a relationship years later after meeting at the Crown Casino.
