The Osage House in Cave Springs was the setting at 5pm. Saturday, March 13th, for the wedding of Selby Rowland Whitbeck and James Edwin Boyd III. In office was Rev. Stuart Hoke of the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Little Rock.
The bride is the daughter of Elisabeth Townsend Rowland and Frank Butterfield Whitbeck and the granddaughter of the late Samuel Carson Rowland II, the late Elizabeth and Gordon Wittenberg, des The late Beverly Butterfield Whitbeck and the late Frank Lynn Whitbeck, all from Little Rock.
The groom’s parents are Teresa and James Edwin Boyd Jr. from Hot Springs Village. He is the grandson of Lucy Woods Boyd and James Edwin Boyd, both of Benton, the late Wanda Lee Adcock of Bastrop, La., And the late Bennie Eugene Moore of Troy, Ala.
Vows were exchanged in front of an arch adorned with coral spell peonies, pale yellow stem, cream and coral roses, blushing hydrangeas and orange spray roses. Music was by William Reyes and Andrew Chu.
The bride walked down the aisle with her father in a sleeveless white silk and lace dress and a cathedral-length veil with matching lace. She carried a bouquet of yellow and blushing garden roses, orange ranunculus, blushing snapdragons and peonies with coral charm.
The maid of honor was Elisabeth Butterfield Whitbeck from Washington, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Amanda Wise, Catelyn Wilson, Rebecca Caldwell, Melissa Lorince, and Sydney Clifford, all from Little Rock; Melissa Smith of Des Moines, Iowa; Abigail Nixon from New Orleans; Jennifer Johnston of Rainier, Ore .; Ellery Poe of Fayetteville; and Ragan Wesson of Birmingham, Ala. The junior bridesmaid was Catherine « Cate » Whitbeck from Little Rock, niece of the bride. They wore dresses made of silver sage and a smaller version of the bridal bouquet.
Flower girls were Charlotte « Charley » Whitbeck of Little Rock, niece of the bride; and Bennett Beavers and Emerson Beavers, both of Bryant and nieces of the groom. Ring bearer was Sheppard Whitbeck from Little Rock, nephew of the bride.
Charles David Roscopf from Dallas served as best man. Groomsmen were Heath Gregory of New Orleans; Michael Lewis and Daniel Hines, both from Little Rock; Matt Phillips, Tyler Griffin, Zach Delk, and Chandler Delk, all from Helena-West Helena; Matthew Gerrard of Marianna; and Derek Deaton and Will Crass, both from Fayetteville. Brooks Boyd of Benton, the groom’s nephew, was a junior best man.
A reception, also at Osage House, followed the ceremony. At the tables were coral peonies, coral and cream roses, bright red hydrangeas, orange ranunculus, orange spray and orange tulips. Music was by Chinatown Band.
The bride is a graduate of the University of Alabama and assistant to the senior director of the Episcopal Collegiate School.
The groom is also a graduate of the University of Alabama and assistant farm manager at Winrock Grass Farm .
