World news – Shark skipper Wade Graham tears up before the 250th NRL game against Raiders

NRL stars are usually pretty good at keeping their emotions in check, but Wade Graham was clearly touched by a special moment.

NRL: The Roosters upset the Tigers, and Luke Keary was in the middle of that attempt with an incredible flick-pass assist for Brett Morris.

Cronulla Sharks skipper Wade Graham was in tears after an emotional gesture from the club to celebrate his 250th game.

Graham, who as 17-year-old started with the Panthers, moved to the Sharks in 2010 with a desire to play more NRL football.

Since joining the Sharks, he has quickly become one of the best and most respected strikers in the game. He played for NSW and Australia and won a Premier League for Cronulla in 2016.

Graham was presented with a commemorative jersey foreplay for his milestone match with his mother Debbie and father Mark in the locker rooms for the presentation. </ The striker was emotional and clearly held back tears as his teammates and Sharks staff clapped while each of his parents gave him a hug.

Fox League commentator Steve Roach said he was not surprised by the Sharks star’s emotions.

« This is how he plays with emotions, » said Roach. « I like him. 250 games, that’s not a lot from the bench, so he played most of the 80 minutes week after week. If I’d picked a team in the last 20 years, he’d be in my 17. I love them The way he plays. I think he’s grossly underrated. «

Graham also had a banner for him to run through and he was the last man his team formed an honor guard when he and his sons William and Thomas in his arms.

« That’s respect, » said Roach. « He’s the type of player that everyone likes to play with. Good for him. What about those scenes? »

« It was good, the club did a great job, » he said. « Lots of messages of support and congratulations, and I have my whole family today. So it’s been a good week. »

Graham said getting his jersey from his parents was special because « they’ve been there from the start. » when he ran away with his sons for the first time. «

The appreciation the star enjoys was evident when even Raiders coach Ricky Stuart praised the Graham before the game.

» It is a wonderful milestone for any player to play in the NRL, let alone 250 games, « said Stuart. » He’s a threat, he’s a real threat to Wade Graham on every football team he plays for. I’ve seen him win Origin games for us, I’ve seen him win grand finals for his club, and he just looks like one of those player-coaches would love to train. He just seems like a real team person. I hope he doesn’t have all the joy today, but it’s a big milestone for him. «

Well done, Wade Graham. Wonderful career. Have a wonderful day. Hopefully the guys are lifting to get a win on your big day.

But The game did not go quite as planned as the Raiders took the 12-0 lead at break and dominated possession 59-41 percent.
