World news – Shocking moment a cow washes on the beach during a terrible NSW storm

Beach goers were shocked to discover that a cow washed up on Old Bar Beach near Taree's central north coast after a devastating storm on Saturday.

A desperate cow was found alone on a deserted beach after a herd of cattle was swept away during the historic New South Wale rainstorm.

Beachgoers were shocked to see when they discovered that the female cow washed up on Saturday at Old Bar Beach near the town of Taree on the north coast of New South Wales.

The discovery came when the once-in-a-century weather system struck the rivers in the region flooded and parts of the Pacific Highway.

A warning of dangerous surf also applies to the Coffs Coast and the Macquarie Coast on Sunday at the earliest.

Old Bar Taree Surf Life Saving Club volunteers found the cow and misplaced the animal.

« This happy little girl has the right beach selected to wash up, « one woman wrote on Twitter on Saturday afternoon.

A group of volunteers from the Old Bar Taree Surf Life Saving Club safely removed the animal from the sand and placed it in a nearby paddock.

 » A herd of 22 cows is missing, hopefully this is one of them, « said the woman.

 » What a terrible ordeal. I hope she can live a happy life in a sanctuary somewhere, « said another.

The rescue comes after major flood warnings were issued across the state on Saturday as heavy rain and heavy flooding struck the east and north coasts .

Thousands of residents in Taree and the surrounding suburbs should prepare to vacate their homes as 50-80mm of rainfall and heavy thunderstorms pounded the area.

At an emergency press conference, NSW Prime Minister Gladys Berejiklian said, that the « extreme weather event » will continue into the next week – with rain that should not stop until Thursday or Friday.

« The last time when we had major floods in NSW, the weather event passed in two or three days. Unfortunately, this will be a deep-seated, extreme weather event, « she said.

The weather department warned of heavy rainfall that could potentially lead to life-threatening flash floods, and of harmful winds with an average speed of 60 to 70 km / h and Gusts of more than 90 km / h.
