World news – Singapore receives its first H225M helicopter – Vertical Mag

The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) has acquired its first H225M helicopter in Singapore.

Airbus Helicopters signed a contract with the Singapore Ministry of Defense to acquire H225M Medium Lift Helicopters in 2016.

Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, congratulated Singapore on the H225M and said: “Airbus is very excited to celebrate this important milestone with the RSAF. This delivery is extremely important as Airbus and the RSAF overcame the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 to achieve a smooth handover of the helicopter. « 

 » RSAF has been a long-term partner of Airbus since the first Aerospatiale SA316B Alouette III went into operation more than 50 years ago. We appreciate the trust Singapore has placed in our helicopters and look forward to seeing the H225M play a vital role in the RSAF for many years to come, ”added Even.

The fleet is expected to be H225M in Singapore performs a wide range of functions including search and rescue, aviation evacuation, and humanitarian and disaster relief.

The H225M is a combat-proven versatile and versatile device that enables armed forces to be deployed anywhere, anytime. There are currently 104 H225Ms in use around the world, which have accumulated more than 143,000 flight hours. The H225M is used by Brazil, France, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Thailand and Kuwait in support of their most demanding missions.
