Stoke City returns to bet365 today to face Wayne Rooney’s Derby County and cement their place in the top half of the championship.
Stoke are back at home in Cardiff after a midweek draw , while Derby, who starts eight points above the bottom three points in the afternoon, arrives after a comeback against Brentford.
Michael O’Neill is missing several key players. Steven Fletcher (head) has to rest due to a concussion protocol while James McClean (foot), Sam Clucas (hernia) and Morgan Fox (thigh) are out until after the international break. Tyrese Campbell (knee) and Nathan Collins (foot) are out for the season, Alfie Doughty (thigh) hopes to be fit to play a role by then.
Derby will have to do without Lee Gregory, Stoke’s striker on loan while Colin Kazim-Richards has a hip injury.

Brown has been instructed to leave the field sooner than he wanted. I am pleased that he achieved this goal. It should be the difference.
I don’t want to tempt fate, just one more goal and it would be Stokes best for a season (18) since binary season (20).
Danny Batth ! His header is well saved by Roos after Thompson’s free kick, but falls at a tight angle on Brown. In the side network. He should have two.
Jordan Thompson’s free kick was thrown back by Tommy Smith so Nick Powell could take a nice cross at the post so Brown could take a header.
Nick Powell runs forward and there is short space in front of him until Max Bird kills him. He’s lucky enough not to get booked – but Powell should be over.
Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham both win and Derby would panic if Stoke could find just one goal.
Powell pushes Norrington-Davies in the lower left, but Wisdom is down to block the cross.
Jason Night enters the derby behind the Stoe defense on the right, but his violent flank is easy to defend.
It’s fair to say that Michael O’Neill is frustrated with his full-back crossing. He yelled as Norrington-Davies hit one in the boothen end.
Norrington-Davies buys a free kick from Byrne and is in a decent position, far left in the middle of the derby half.
