WELLINGTON – Argentinian Marcelo Rodriguez will take over the office of SANZAAR chairman with immediate effect, said the governing body of rugby in the southern hemisphere.
SANZAAR also said Australian Brendan Morris has moved from chief operating officer to chief Executive promoted.
Rodriguez, the current president of the Argentine Rugby Union, said his appointment reflects the South American nation’s growing standing in the game.
« Lately we’ve seen the rugby in Argentina got stronger and did some great things. This appointment is a clear testament to the respect and international standing that Argentine rugby has earned around the world, « he said.
SANZAAR was founded in 1996 to promote super rugby To conduct club competition and the testing tournament now known as the Rugby Championship.
