It’s a bloody time when Dallas Woods got into the Triple-J for Like A Version Studios rocked after releasing a number of excellent singles last year, including collabs with Sampa The Great, Baker Boy and Miiesha.

He didn’t disappoint: he delivered a creeping, luxurious one with powerhouse singer Kee’ahn Play of Fat Joe and Ashanti’s 2000s classic « What’s Luv? », Which took us right back to the days of low-rise jeans and Dutch trucker hats. He also played his brand new single, « Stranger, » which featured Kee’ahn as a singer again.

« It’s one of those songs that has a nostalgic feel that takes you back in time, » Woods told Triple J about choosing « What’s Luv? » 2000s.

“It was around this age that I started realizing what I like about music. R&B was the wave, you can hear people say: « That was illuminated back then, that was the wave ». Fat Joe had it with « Lean Back », « What’s Luv? » Killed. Come on, it’s Fat Joe! Do some research.

« I had beautiful, talented Queen Kee’ahn with me – she really set the tone, really relaxed. I just wanted to get lots of references from the early 2000s and show the fun I can have. I’ve always seen the Like A version, so I can finally do one, and it wasn’t like, « Let’s come in and do our best, » it was like, « No, let’s just come in and have fun. » Hopefully that’ll work out well with the audience «
