Wednesday’s Goldbergs said a touching farewell to OG actor George Segal, who died of bypass surgery on March 23rd.

On Twitter, Segal’s Goldbergs daughter Wendi McLendon-Covey stated that Pops’ absence will be on-screen next fall, provided the sitcom is renewed. “We would NEVER replace George as Pops. When we get a ninth season, we’ll take care of it, ”wrote McLendon-Covey.
