The front page of the New York Times revealed the dire human cost of the coronavirus pandemic in the US.
A simple but powerful image that spans almost the entire page shows dots one through Coronavirus depicting lost lives.
There are nearly 500,000 dots on the page – meaning more Americans were killed from COVID-19 than on the battlefields of World War I, World War II, and the Vietnam War combined.
“Every death has left countless mourners, a ripple effect of loss that has gripped cities and towns. Every death has left an empty space in churches across America: a bar stool that a regular was sitting on, one side of a bed he hadn’t slept in, an eat-in kitchen without a cook, ”read the newspaper.

Mr Biden said last week the vaccine delivery program was as complicated as the already intense challenges of producing them in large quantities quickly.
« It has Never before has a logistical challenge been as momentous as what we’re trying to do, but we can make it, « he said.
According to Biden, his goal is to get a million shots a day for the first 100 days of his presidency give a total of 100 million, slightly surpassing the current average of 1.7 million vaccinations per day.
With the US death toll approaching 500,000, Mr Biden said he did not want to make firm predictions about when the crisis will be slowed down.
However, he said 600 million cans – enough to supply two cans to most of the country – are expected to be ready by the end of July.
