World news – The newly formed Thai Airlines Association appoints the first president – Pattaya Mail

The newly established Thai Airlines Association has appointed Mr. Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, President of Bangkok Airways, as founding president.

Jointly from seven founding members, including Bangkok Airways, Thai AirAsia, Thai AirAsia X, Thai Smile Airways, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air and Thai Vietjet, Board members attended the first meeting held last week to discuss guidelines and various measures to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 situation on the airline’s members / p>
The association is also developing the member’s proposals to the Thai government, including measures and guidelines for airlines, to be better prepared to welcome foreign tourists back to Thailand.

This includes a proposed vaccination against COVID-19 for Frontline airline employees who are considered the gateway to welcoming foreign tourists into the country.

She also suggests that the government rethink vaccination policy to promote Thai tourism while restoring the confidence of international tourists.

The main goals of the Thai Airline Association, founded on January 25, 2021, are: to achieve sustainable standards and strengthen the aviation industry in Thailand.
-Integrated development to promote and assist government agencies in the development of aviation and tourism.
– Implement or support a program to create “knowledge packages” related to aviation and tourism, including joint research and development to improve the aviation industry in Thailand.
– Promote, support and collaborate with other non-profit organizations for the common good.
