Music company BMG will team up with private equity firm KKR to acquire music rights after recently acquiring Mick Fleetwood’s back catalog.
The alliance wants music streaming to boom which has enabled singer-songwriters like Bob Dylan to sell part of the license fees to specialist investors. « BMG and KKR can now jointly pursue opportunities to acquire important catalogs of music rights, » said Thomas Rabe , Managing Director of Bertelsmann.
KKR has established a number of partnerships with German companies and in 2008 took part in the founding of BMG, the home of Kylie Minogue.
