The United Arab Emirates and Ireland will play a second one-day international in Abu Dhabi on Monday after two games of the scheduled four-game series were canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

The United Arab Emirates won the opening event on January 8th without Vice-Captain Chirag Suri and the uncapped spinner on the left arm, Aryan Lakra, who both tested positive for coronavirus.

« We are very pleased that the clearance for the newly planned game has been granted and the squad looks forward to getting competitive again, « said Richard Holdsworth, High Performance Director of Cricket Ireland.

 » It was very disruptive to team planning and player preparation not knowing when the next was next Game will take place, but I know (coach) Graham Ford and the squad will adjust and are happy to have a confirmed game now. « 

After Monday, Ireland will stay in the V AE to play a three-game ODI series against Afghanistan.
