Undefeated junior middleweight contestant Tim Tszyu will be looking to get a demolition job when he faces veteran Dennis Hogan on March 31st.
In 2019 there were many observers who believed Hogan did enough to score a disgruntled win against WBO junior middleweight champion Jamie Munguia, who was very disappointed with his performance.
The results were 114-114, 115-113 and 116-112, which is Munguia brought a majority decision win. The tough Mexican has since climbed to 160 pounds.
Hogan has been out of the ring since his promotion to middleweight division in December 2019 when he was collapsed and knocked out by the much taller Jermall Charlo.
Tszyu (17-0 ) who defeated and stopped former WBO world champion Jeff Horn has become a superstar in Australia. New fighters regularly call him out.
The 26-year-old was already on the field in December when he defeated Bowyn Morgan in one round.
He is now very close to a jump in the WBO world title secure, currently owned by Patrick Teixeira. Next month, Teixeira will submit a compulsory defense against undefeated challenger Brian Castano.
Tszyu wants to secure a world title fight before the end of the year. He wants another impressive win when he takes on Hogan.
« I don’t see it the same way as others, it’s not a big gamble for me, » Tszyu told The Daily Telegraph.
« If I do fight for this world title, I will win it, not participate and only compete. So this fight against Dennis Hogan is the perfect preparation. «
» Every fight is a big step up for me, every fight is a must. If I want to be a world champion, I have to destroy everyone in my way, and right now that’s Hogan. «
