World news – Tokyo: Equities end higher as IMF forecast raises hopes for higher profits

[TOKYO] Japanese stocks closed higher on Wednesday in hopes of better corporate results after the International Monetary Fund (IMF) raised its forecast for global growth, while Nitto Denko stocks fell after a Revised earnings outlook jumped.

The Nikkei stock average rose 0.31 percent to 28,635.21, while the broader Topix rose 0.65 percent to 1,860.07.
