World news – Tony Hawk fights tears after landing the final emotional trick

Tony Hawk has inspired generations of skateboarders and this video will make each of them blink back tears.

The most influential character in skateboarding history is no longer a kid – and it was emotional to say goodbye to one of his favorite tricks.

Tony Hawk has inspired generations of skateboarders, and this video makes every one of them blink back tears .

The 52-year-old posted a vision of his determined attempt to land a final Ollie 540 – one of the fancy tricks he’d crossed off his wish-list in the 1990s to perform a spin and a half without the board with his touching hand.

Landing the trick was challenging at best, but as the footage shows, it’s quite a brutal job for the middle-aged action sports pioneer.

Hawk keeps falling on his knees and at some point slips completely off the ramp. « Sorry, » says Hawk. « I broke everything. »

Hawk breathes heavily and continues back to the top of the ramp. It pays off.

After gently landing the trick, he screams excitedly before putting his head in his hands and falling to his knees.

You hear him cry as he repulses tears before he says, « I’m a little sad. I never have a lot of finality for anything, but that was definitely the last thing I’ll ever do. Damn, I’m glad I did it. »

The Californian shared footage of him doing two full revs in January, the first time he landed the trick in three years.

« I did a 720 recently and it was a battle. The last one I did before I did it was over three years ago and it’s a lot more difficult now, « wrote Hawk alongside his video.

» Recently dislocated fingers are hindering my grip, my spin is slower, so I have to go higher for a full rotation go and … I’m really old.

« I can’t say for sure the last one I’ll ever do, but I can’t see myself doing much more. «

Age cannot stop skateboarding legend Tony Hawk as he showed that he still does killer tricks can perform.

Hawk was married four times and had four children. Despite amassing more than $ 100 million in personal fortune, he said he spent too much time traveling away from his family when it came down to it.

« When it was a wacky celebrity in the early 2000s -Level I got a little more into it (the celebrity lifestyle) and that was a challenge, « Hawk told news.com.au. « I got invited to movie premieres and Hollywood parties, which was more of a challenge.

» I’ve been on too many trips or to frivolous premieres or gigs that took my time with my kids and I regret it in any case. I should have stayed home more for my children, especially in their early years, but instead I was gone and running.

« Suddenly I felt that these opportunities were once in a lifetime, I had to take them, but in In reality, they weren’t worth my children’s time. «
