The second day of the Champions League round of 16 took place on Wednesday with two one-goal thrillers: Borussia Dortmund defeated Seville 3-2 and Porto shocked Juventus 2-1.
Both games had a lot of drama , brilliant appearances and scratchy moments. Let’s break down the winners and losers of an exciting evening on the pitch.

Dortmund also needed both goals, because after a shaky finish Sevilla would have played almost a draw even in the final minutes. It was more nervous than expected for the German team, but Haaland’s brace was enough to give them the early advantage in the draw with their second home game.
It would be tough to blame Wojciech Szczesny for the two goals. With the first, a terrible back pass was the main culprit. On the second, he was beaten at close range.
But Champions League games are marginally won and lost, and Szczesny could have done better in both areas. On the first pass, his defender was in a difficult position and his reaction to the back pass was just slow enough to leave an opening for the goal. The second time, no goalkeeper wants to be hit by his near post.

All in all, two rounds of concentration from Juventus that cost them the first leg and put them in a hole with a goal. If Juventus want to make a run in the quarter-finals, they have to clean it up.
Sevilla conceded a goal in nine games tonight – Haaland put one up and scored two goals in the first half.
Sevilla’s defense was able to Dortmund Counterattack just can’t handle it. To be fair, quite a few clubs will fight against Dortmund’s talented attackers.
But it is part of the game that Sevilla must support in order to close a one-goal deficit and advance to the quarter-finals.
