Emergency crews were called to the Golf World parking lot on the west side of Nicklin Way in Minyama at 10:16 a.m. on Friday.

Maroochydore Fire Department officer Ash Dixon said the crews wore breathing apparatus to put out the fire quickly.

Traffic on Nicklin Way has been reduced to two lanes, with one lane blocked, but flowing.

One lane of traffic to the north was blocked and cars drove very slowly past the construction site under police supervision.
