UPDATE 11.30 a.m .: Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) is currently on site at the derailment of the freight train near Morrows Road in Nana Glen.

Half of the 1,500 m long train has derailed, one of the Locomotives are in the paddock, and the other two locomotives are upright.

One of these locomotives has run out of up to 8000 liters of diesel, and 16 wagons are fitted with jackknives, four of which are in flood.

A small fire broke out in one of the cars, but it was extinguished by the engine driver.

The train was carrying dangerous goods and special teams from Sydney and Newcastle were used for the incident.

The driver of the train was safely out removed from the train and assessed by NSW Ambulance.

The derailment took place around 1:45 a.m. near the town of Nana Glen, about 25 kilometers west of Coffs Harbor in the Orara Valley. The police confirmed that it was a storm and there were no injuries.

There are unconfirmed reports that the train may have carried dangerous goods and the Australian Rail Track Corporation issued a statement that they are investigating the incident.

There are also reports that overnight floods cutting off roads in the area have hampered relief efforts.

The Orara Way at Bluff Bridge is currently under water, preventing access from Grafton. Flooding images are exchanged on several other sections of the road between social media.
