TUCKER CARLSON (HOST): Critical race theory is not a new idea, despite what they tell you. In 1964, a third of the Senate Democrats voted against the civil rights bill, and one of them was a man named Robert Byrd.

Byrd was a staunch advocate of « justice, » or as it was called at the time, Jim Crow. In 1944, at the height of World War II, Robert Byrd wrote a letter to Theodore Bilbo, a Democratic colleague who represented Mississippi in the Senate. Byrd was upset that the Roosevelt administration gave federal jobs to people of the wrong skin color. Robert Byrd was the Tammy Duckworth of his day.

Quote: « I will never fight with a Negro by my side in the armed forces, » Byrd wrote, amazingly. than seeing our beloved land degraded by mixed race, a throwback to the blackest specimens out of the wild, « quote.

That’s real. Robert Byrd wrote this. At the time he wrote it, Byrd worked as a recruiter for the Ku Klux Klan, which at the time was Yale University, the source of so much poison in our society.
