VALENCIA: The 2021 MotoGP season will feature 20 races, according to a provisional schedule released on Friday, with organizers hoping for a « return to normalcy » after a year hit by the coronavirus
Next year is expected to start, as usual, in Qatar on March 8 and round Valencia on November 14
Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP organizers Dorna Sports, said: « We are trying to get back to normal, we have talked to all the promoters and done the normal schedule because it is important to block the days and know exactly what days there will be the Grands Prix
« We hope we can do it Obviously there is a lot that we do not know yet, which is why we have included three reserve Grands Prix to be awarded where possible and also taking into account the considerations weather for each location »
Two reserves are in Europe, Portimao in Portugal and Saint Petersburg in Russia and Mandalika in Indonesia – AFP
Note: The date and location of the 20th GP has yet to be announced, but will likely take place between July 11 and August 15
