Diamonds players will be asked to give an honest assessment of Australia’s netball program when they meet on the Sunshine Coast next week for a camp with new coach Stacey Marinkovich
With the Super Netball season ending with Sunday’s grand final in Brisbane, Marinkovich took the opportunity to host a six-night camp in Noosa starting on Wednesday
The 19-player Diamond squad named last month by Marinkovich, who in August was named new national coach
With the absence of an international netball schedule for the Diamonds until early next year, and the squad hardened by an intense and condensed Super Netball season, field training will not be long after. the agenda of Noosa
Instead, Marinkovich will use this time to build relationships with players and get their feedback on what needs improvement in the Diamonds program
« It was a unique opportunity for Diamonds to generally have an environment where you can build relationships, get real alignment in the direction we want to take and start shaping some of that clarity, » said Marinkovich
« Then when we get together in January to tackle that side of the performance, there’s already that connection and hopefully that builds cohesion on the pitch.
« There are a lot of one-to-one meetings. This is an opportunity for me to understand where the players are at and what they see as the strengths of the program and what they think we are. must move forward

Marinkovich has been busy juggling her coaching commitments with the Super Netball West Coast Fever grand finalists and getting ready for the Noosa camp
