A coronary artery inquest in Cairns heard a recording of the appeal that Mr. Webber threw at triple-0 after one of the stab wounds
« A guy is dying I can see him in the street He’s not moving
M Webber told the operator of the triple 0 that the attack occurred after Ms Locke knocked on his door and woke him up in the middle of the night, complaining of a dislocated shoulder
In the recording, Ms. Locke could be heard screaming, moaning and saying that she was in pain
On the first day of the five-day investigation, M Davy, M Christensen and Ms Locke had attended a grand finale of the NRL in a vacant apartment building near Mr. Christensen that night
The widow of M Christensen, Jaye, told court her husband was very drunk at night but he was « your ordinary man »
Previously, lawyers representing Mr. Webber requested that he be excused from testifying on medical grounds and submitted a report from the psychiatrist indicating his condition
« He is suffering from PTSD due to the incident [which is] of a moderate to severe nature, » said Harvey Walters, the lawyer representing Mr. Webber, in court
« I ask the court to exercise its discretion in exempting Mr. Webber to testify in court [because it] will have serious health consequences «
« This is a huge step forward for the person who caused the two deaths to be excused from the investigation, » Chris Minnery, representing the Davy family, told court
« It must be in the public interest for him to answer questions about what he did, how he did it »
Deputy State Coroner Jane Bentley said she would speak with M’s psychiatrist Webber before making a decision
