Virat Kohli produced an exceptional bat effort as the Royal Challengers Bangalore beat the Chennai Super Kings by 37 runs

OUT! A last ball wicket for Chris Morris as Jadeja walks up to the man in the deep midwicket to leave for 7! CSK 126/8

OUT! Padikkal had let go of Bravo on the previous delivery and instantly compensates for the error as he clings to it to send the Trinidadian all-rounder back to the canoe Second window for Morris today CSK 122/7

OUT! Udana saw Rayudu cross the line early enough and completely took over the ball Rayudu ends up having a slight tickle that only ensures that he keeps hitting the middle stump! The Sri Lankan turns around and points to his skipper to celebrate CSK 113/6

OUT! Chris Morris strikes and gets his first wicket in an RCB jersey as he gets screwed by all-rounder Sam Curran for a golden duck! CSK 107/5

OUT! Dhoni was locked up for a long time while Chahal spun the big fish! Gurkeerat had his eyes fixed on the ball throughout and was still like a statue as he made an easy CSK 106/4 capture

OUT! Gorgeous piece of mid-race Morris pitch as he performs a direct hit to the non-attacking end, where Jagadeesan fails while looking to complete a quick single Intent was something Rayudu and Jagadeesan lacked in progress running so far today, and it ultimately cost the latter his wicket as he didn’t stretch his arm so much to try and get home CSK 89/3

Fifty partnership between Jagadeesan and Rayudu for the third window, this stand with 44 deliveries Jagadeesan recovers a single from the last delivery of the 13th to bring up the CSK 75/2 milestone

BOWLED! Sundar delivers once again for RCB in the powerplay! After being hit for a limit from the previous ball, Sundar shoots a straighter, flatter ball that beats Watson’s bottom edge, and soon the Australian opener returns to the dugout. CSK 25/2

OUT! Faf had survived a dismissal scared by a similar shot a few deliveries ago, but survived thanks to lack of timing This one is hit much better, but the big limits in Dubai only mean he’s going to need a lot more of power to release the rope here CSK 19/1

Kohli gets maximum! Top edge, wait no, it comes back from the stick against Curran and the ball flies over the keeper’s head to cross the line

AB de Villiers goes back to the canoe Remove one from the keeper Party for a duck De Villiers c Dhoni b Thakur 0 (2)

Padikkal took to the air against Shardul but failed to clear Faf du Plessis halfway through Devdutt Padikkal c du Plessis b Thakur 33 (34)

Chahar’s ball returns as Finch’s bat is far from Australian’s Poor ball Finch b Chahar 2 (9)

Playing XI: Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (w / c), N Jagadeesan, Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Karn Sharma

Playing XI: Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli (c), AB de Villiers (w), Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Shivam Dube, Chris Morris, Washington Sundar, Isuru Udana, Navdeep Saini, Yuzvendra Chahal

Hello and welcome to our coverage of the first meeting of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Indian Premier League 2020, the two teams led by MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli taking place respectively at Dubai Stadium international cricket in the second double headed match on Saturday

Big win for RCB tonight, one that puts them ahead of SRH as they secure their fourth win of the tournament, registering their biggest win over their southern rivals whose season of misery keeps getting worse in every game that passes For once, CSK bowlers appear to have kept Bangalore batsmen in check until the last four overs, in which Virat Kohli played alongside Shivam Dube Chennai, in response, lost wickets early on and the lack of intent in the partnership between Ambati Rayudu and N Jagadeesan allowed the demanded rate to climb beyond their reach.

Hope you enjoyed our coverage of both Saturday matches with very mixed results – Kolkata Knight Riders pulling off an incredible heist against Kings XI Punjab, followed by a rather one-sided victory for the Royal Challengers Bangalore over Chennai Super Kings For now, we wish you all a good night! Join us tomorrow for another double header!

Virat Kohli: It was one of our most complete performances We found ourselves in a sticky situation until about 2 p.m. then we moved forward We were aiming for around 150 points and then we got around 20 races Very happy that we got the two points, and since we have back-to-back games it’s good to keep the momentum going If we don’t get too far ahead of the game the game rewards us with more It’s about respecting the conditions If you are in the death over and you hit the ball well you can really capitalize, and I continue to apply it more often than not Before I was putting too much pressure on myself When you think too much about responsibility you start to weigh yourself down I settled in well when I was 34 out of 30 (On Morris) He didn’t have a chance to knock, but there was still Morris to come, Gurkeerat coming up, so our hitting lineup got deep e now I had a great day with the ball and on the pitch too It was a complete performance We always want to focus on our processes There are some very good teams around

MS Dhoni: The last four games when we were at the bowling alley we just needed to shut it down well The shuffling was a bit worrying and today too it was obvious We need to do something about it I think that we better play the other way around, play the bigger shots even if you come out Our stick was a little lacking in power from the sixth We have no plans to tackle the bowlers who will play from the sixth at the 14th edition Either we give too much in the first six overs or too much in the last six overs There are too many holes in the boat Our main concern is still the batting department We will try to be expressive in the next games

Chahar wins a few braces on the first two deliveries, followed by as many points and as many singles on the remaining deliveries as six points in total are conceded in the day’s final, played by Udana With that, RCB takes just their fourth win of the season, which also happens to be only their second against rivals from the south in the last nine meetings between the two.

Padikkal drops Bravo almost long after the third delivery from the end, but makes up for it on the next delivery as Bravo kicks one down the throat, leaving for 7 as a result Jadeja ties the ball to a deep square leg for a limit of the penultimate delivery, but squeezes through the middle of the last delivery as Morris ends his day with a wicket, finishing with a stunning 3/19 digits on his RCB debut CSK needs 44 on 6

OUT! A last ball wicket for Chris Morris as Jadeja walks up to the man in the deep midwicket to leave for 7! CSK 126/8

FOUR! Short and descending leg, Jadeja rotates this rear seat to make it work towards the vacant limit CSK 126/7

OUT! Padikkal had let go of Bravo on the previous delivery and instantly compensates for the error as he clings to it to send the Trinidadian all-rounder back to the canoe Second window for Morris today CSK 122/7

Udana returns to attack in the slog overs, and gets rid of the Rayudu ensemble with a clever change of pace and line to get the CSK No 3 clean bowled for 42 Dwayne Bravo joins Ravindra Jadeja in the middle, and the pair end up with an improbable 53 on 12 balls

IPL 2020 LIVE SCORE, Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore latest updates: Royal Challengers Bangalore wins by 37 races!
Chahar wins a few doubles on the first two deliveries, followed by as many points and as many singles on the remaining deliveries as a total of six points are conceded in the day’s final, beaten by Udana With that, RCB takes just their fourth win of the season, which also happens to be only their second against rivals from the south in the last nine meetings between the two.

Preview: Out of form Chennai Super Kings to face an inconsistent Royal Challengers Bangalore in an intriguing mid-table encounter in Dubai on Saturday

IPL 2020 has seen contrasting starts from these two teams – CSK, used to dominating early in the league stage, have lost four of their six matches, while traditional slow starters RCB have won three of their five games Both teams have just suffered defeats in their last games, and Saturday’s meeting will be a battle of mind between the current and former Indian captain

For CSK apart from Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson no one seems to have any points Their batting order has come under scrutiny this year with Sam Curran sometimes ahead of skipper MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja not having enough balls to play

It will also be interesting to see what approach CSK takes with an out of the ordinary Kedar Jadhav The India international has yet to contribute with the bat, and his strike rate hasn’t been great either. His struggles in running the strike and hitting big shots against KKR have not gone unnoticed, and the question remains whether the Chennai franchise will back the 35-year-old or consider other options.

Skipper Dhoni’s form with the bat was not great either, and despite a few scores his approach of delaying the assault was one of the reasons for some of CSK’s failures in the pursuit.

RCB, on the other hand, seems to be finding its rhythm, despite its recent loss A Super Over victory over the Mumbai Indians was followed by a stroll over the Rajasthan Royals, before they faltered against the Delhi Capitals in shape

RCB will take confidence in the roaring form of young opener Devdutt Padikkal, while Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers all had decent scores

Bowling has always been RCB’s problem, and while spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Washington Sundar have been economical and efficient, stimulators Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, and Navdeep Saini all leak. It will be interesting to see how an out of form CSK middle order plays the RCB rhythm attack
