Colombo [Sri Lanka], October 17 (ANI): The courage, determination and daring of a lion is the central theme of the Lankan Premier League (LPL) logo The LPL logo captures the rich culture and the heritage of the nation, the fluid spirit of the people and the fearless attitude of the Sri Lankan players when they are on the pitchThe use of red and orange colors in the logo is inspired by historical Kandyan paintings and Sigiriya frescoes from Sri Lanka, while the use of blue and yellow represents the colors of Sri Lanka cricketThe colors of the lion’s mane represent the five teams that will compete in the middle The colors, applied with brushstrokes, enhance the sense of volume and represent the speed of the game and the flaming lion’s mane represents passion and enthusiasm endless for the game which is loved by all in the nation The aim of using these colors is to make the tournament a Sri Lankan brand that also appeals to local and international fans

Regarding the LPL logo, Anil Mohan, CEO of IPG said, “The LPL logo represents what is unique about Sri Lanka, its people, its culture and cricket, which holds important in the hearts of everyone in this country At the same time, it also has a global appeal which will help our international audience to easily connect with LPL He captured the spirit of the nation, we couldn’t have asked for better. ”Sri Lanka Cricket Vice President Ravin Wickramaratne said:“ I am extremely happy to see the wonderful fusion of the national colors with the Sri Lanka cricket symbol in the LPL logo I am sure this logo will help fans to easily connect to the event and they will come forward to support it with the same passion as their national team.The Lanka Premier League is scheduled to be played from November 21 to December 13, 2020 at two venues – Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy and Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in HambantotaPlayer draft is scheduled for October 19, 2020 In the Lanka Premier League, five franchise teams, named after Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Dambulla and Jaffna, will face each other in 23 matches over a 15-day span for the titleAlong with all of Sri Lanka’s current major international players, 75 foreign players will participate in the Players’ Draft to be chosen by the five franchises (ANI)
