A man has died after the tanker he was driving crashed into a tree before igniting in the Adelaide Hills
CFS was first alerted to the incident around 11 a.m.Thursday at 10 p.m., several callers said they heard a large explosion and then saw flames 20m down the side of Brookman Rd in Meadows

The tanker was carrying 14,000 liters of diesel when it pulled off the road and rolled before crashing into the tree, CFS spokesman Brett Williamson said
He said 12 CFS crews and three MFS crews, two CFS bulk carriers and CFS special trucks responded to the incident, along with SA police, paramedics and the environmental protection to extinguish the fire
The 59-year-old man from Echunga was the sole occupant of the vehicle and died at the scene
His death brings the state road toll to 70 from 86 in the same period last year
Brookman Road between Morris Road and Hammersmith Drive will be closed for most of the day while crews complete the required cleanup
