Ryan Giggs believes Manchester United should consider using Daniel James in a central role in order to make the best use of his explosive pace

James burst onto the scene at Old Trafford in his natural left-winger position, but was quickly moved to the right as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looked to add balance to his offensive setup

The 22-year-old has never quite been able to return to the impressive form that followed his arrival from Swansea last year, but Wales manager Giggs insists that ‘he is able to improve his game

James has been used sporadically as a central attacking option for the Welsh national team and United legend Giggs believes it’s a switch Solskjaer should experience as well

« In my last game [for Wales] he played more centrally, » Giggs told the Webby and O’Neill fan channel. « In the game against Ireland he played played on the wing, and against Bulgaria on the outside he played more as an inside striker

« He can do it The good thing about it is that instead of bumping into full-backs, he more or less bumps into the middle halves The middle halves don’t want to be against him, the middle halves don’t don’t want to go into these vast areas and face Dan James «

James has proven to be a perpetual threat with his electric pace up front, but Giggs admits there is still room for improvement in his decision making

He added, « The next thing for Dan is when he steps into these positions it’s the final decision making and execution. Once he does that because he’s in so many good positions because of his pace «
