News Corp’s Gilbert Gardiner reported that UK-based virtual sports developer Inspired Entertainment combined leading software and meticulous graphic design to complete Australia’s first project celebrating the 100th edition of the Cox Plate

« It is always a challenge to develop virtual representations of these iconic and beloved horses, » said Steve Rogers of Inspired Entertainment, reported by The Herald Sun

« Fans know their brands, the silks worn by jockeys and their racing styles intimately, so our team has worked hard to develop a race that matches the occasion

« Usually when we take on a project of this scale, we would like to be able to bring our team into the field and model the details

« Obviously due to COVID-19 this was not possible But we used a lot of archive footage and we and Ladbrokes are very happy with the result »

Ladbrokes Executive Director Karl deKroo said: « The clips we’ve seen are amazing, honestly you can blink your eyes and think you’re looking at a real Cox plate

« And then having iconic horses like Phar Lap, Tulloch and Kingston Town, alongside Winx and Might and Power, for a racing fan, it’s exciting »
