A 13-year-old has been charged after police were reportedly driven in a dramatic high-speed chase through Melbourne

The chase came to a sudden conclusion in front of motorists surprised on the Western Ring Rd on Thursday afternoon when police crashed into the allegedly stolen car and pinned it against a concrete barrier

Police will allege that they then pursued one of the teenagers on several lanes of traffic and crossed a fence at the side of the freeway to stop him

The stunning conclusion and its aftermath were captured by nearby motorists and the Nine News helicopter as they watched it unfold

Police will allege the Subaru SUV was stolen in Docklands earlier on Thursday before officers were led into an extended chase in a number of Melbourne’s eastern and northern suburbs

Two policemen were slightly injured and five police vehicles were damaged when specialized police stopped the chase just after 1 p.m.

Two 15-year-old boys and a 13-year-old boy were arrested at the scene and taken into police custody

A 15-year-old, suspected of being the driver of the allegedly stolen vehicle, has been charged with several traffic violations, including intentionally exposing an emergency service worker to risks by driving, as well as theft of a motor vehicle and related offenses
