In West Dunbartonshire, restrictions will be eased slightly as the area drops to level three on Friday.
Nicola Sturgeon confirmed the move this afternoon, ending a three-week lockdown that closed the hospitality industry and non-essential stores across the area.
The new rules come into effect on Friday at 18. 00 a.m. in force. However, the retail rooms can be opened on Friday from 6. Open again at 12:00 AM to help stores and malls manage customer flow.
The First Minister said, « I can confirm that all eleven local authorities that are currently at level four will move to level three on Friday. «
In an appeal to residents to « exercise caution, » she added, « I appeal to everyone who has come out of level four to exercise caution.
The region has been subject to the strictest level four restrictions since the system was introduced in November, forcing unnecessary shops, pubs, restaurants and hairdressers to close.
The announcement comes as the Covid infection rate in the region fell again to 86. 6 per 100. 000 people – lower than the Scottish average of 100. 3.
There were 208 cases per 100 in West Dunbartonshire in early November. 000 inhabitants, which means that the numbers have more than halved.

Martin Docherty-Hughes, MP from West Dunbartonshire, welcomed the news, saying: « It is welcome news that West Dunbartonshire continues to make progress in the fight against Covid-19 and is no longer subject to the highest restrictions.
« The sacrifices everyone is asked to make are heavy, but they help lower infection rates and protect our NHS.
« The number of cases in West Dunbartonshire has more than halved in the past few weeks, which gives cause for optimism as the vaccine rollout begins.
« We’re not quite out of the woods yet. Even if the number of cases has decreased, this deadly virus still circulates and remains a threat.
« As restrictions wear off, it is important that we continue to do all we can to protect ourselves and our loved ones by following the latest guidelines. «
