Once you’ve had Christmas dinner, opened your presents, and talked to loved ones, there’s nothing more satisfying than collapsing on the couch and putting up with one of these Christmas-themed programs.

In the morning BBC One starts with an hour of Gruffalo (from 8 a.m.). 55 p.m.) for families, along with other family-friendly films that play throughout the day – until the Queen’s speech at 3 p.m..

The highly anticipated Strictly Christmas Special starts at 4am. At 4 p.m., as the evening gets darker, favorites Call The Midwife, EastEnders and Mrs Browns Boys fill the schedule.

Of course we can’t wait for the Blankety Blank Christmas Special – hosted by Bradley Walsh – at 7pm either …

Fans of classic BBC programming will want to tune in to BBC Two all Christmas afternoon. In 1975 Christmas episodes of Dad’s Army and The Morecambe and Wise Show aired, as did a 1992 episode of Victoria Woods All Day Breakfast.

Loyal royalists can also learn about the story of the Queen’s speech at 3am. 3 p.m. while at 5 a.m. she listens to her annual broadcast again. 50 p.m., while modern film fans can revisit the Oscar-winning musical La La Land later at 10 a.m.. 22 O `clock.

Now to ITV, where Britain’s Got Talent will air at 8pm this Christmas with hosts Ant & Dec and judges David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden. Unfortunately, Simon Cowell will not participate in this edition.

The judges will perform with previous winners of the show, while the Diversity dance troupe will return for a special performance.

For a lazy film marathon in the afternoon, Channel 4 delivers with The Italian Job and the Christmas classic Home Alone 2.

Fans of illustrator Quentin Blake will want to tune in at 7am. 40 o’clock, for a half-hour animation of his book Clown following a discarded toy clown who makes a new life for himself. Sounds like tears.

It’s a complete feast of nostalgia on Channel 5, with the 1968 musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang airing ahead of a three-hour program dedicated to the music of the 1980s.

Music fans will also enjoy documentaries about late icons Freddie Mercury and George Michael, who both had a special relationship over Christmas.
